Music Tuition

At Hylton Castle Primary School, we offer a range of instrumental lessons delivered by specialist peripatetic music teachers. Instruments currently available include violin, guitar, keyboard, brass, and drums. These lessons take place primarily during the school day.

Thanks to generous support from our Pupil Premium funding, the cost of each lesson is heavily subsidised. Parents pay just £2.00 per lesson, with payment due at the beginning of each term (amounts vary depending on the number of weeks in the term).

We encourage children to practise their instruments at home, helping them build confidence and skill to participate in music ensembles and work towards music exams throughout the year.

To support learning, we also subscribe to Addanote, an online platform used in school to aid instrumental practice. Children can access the platform at home by visiting www.addanote.co.uk

Additionally, we have a school choir, led by Mrs Wood, which usually meets during lunchtime.

If you would like your child to start music lessons, please contact the School Office for more information.
