Welcome to Year 4
Hi! I am Miss Sheriff. Welcome to Year 4. Our class is full of hard-working, determined children who enjoy coming to school each day. If you visit our classroom, you will be impressed with our excellent attitude to learning and our amazing times tables skills!
In my spare time I love walking my dogs Winnie and Gus and spending time with my horses Chime and Duchess. The children love hearing about my animals!
We are excited for a great year together.

- Taught every Monday (a.m.) and Friday (p.m.)
- Please come to school in your PE kit
Homework
- Year group expected spellings will be issued every Monday and tested the following Monday. Please support your child throughout the week in learning the spellings.
- Pupils who receive 9 or 10/10 will be celebrated on our ‘Spelling Superstars’ display.
- Pupils scoring 9 or 10/10 will receive a spelling certificate each week.
- Children in Year 4 have a times tables test towards the end of the year, so regular times tables is a must to enable them to become fluent and confident and have QUICK recall. Children will work hard on these at school every day in Year 4 but regular TT Rockstars practise at home is essential.
- Daily home reading. Any books read will be added to their ‘reading bookmark’. They are able to move up stages and will be given rewards when they fill each bookmark (20 books per bookmark). Children can also use reading plus as another tool.
